Ooni is known for producing high-quality pizza ovens, and even though we usually recommend larger models, the Karu 12 and Koda 12 are great options for those who prefer making smaller pies or need a more portable oven for camping trips.
The Ooni Karu 12 is a multi-fuel oven that allows you to use wood, charcoal, or gas to cook pizzas. However, if you opt for gas, you will need to purchase a gas burner separately. It’s important to note that the Karu 12 does not come with a peel. This oven can reach temperatures of up to 950°F or 500°C and can achieve the optimal baking temperature of 850°F or 450°C in just 15 minutes. It only takes 60 seconds to cook a pizza in this oven, and you can also bake, roast, and sear other dishes. The temperature can be controlled by adjusting the airflow on the chimney, and the oven weighs 26.1lbs (12kg).
On the other hand, the Koda 12 is a gas-powered model that includes a regulator and hose for connecting to your propane tank. However, you will still need to purchase a peel separately. This model is more compact than the Karu 12, weighing 20.4lbs (9.25kg).
