Discord, the popular communication tool for gamers, has recently introduced a new feature that some users may not be too thrilled about. Starting in September, Discord contacts will not only be able to see what games you are playing but also how long you have been playing each game and how frequently you have played in the last 30 days.
This level of detail can be concerning for some users who may not want their gaming activities to be so transparent to their friends. For example, if you decide to play solo for a while instead of joining a group, your friends could easily see that you are online and playing alone, potentially leading to misunderstandings or conflicts.
Additionally, if you are playing a game that you would rather keep private or if you have access to unreleased content that you do not want others to know about, this new feature could inadvertently reveal information that you would rather keep to yourself.
The good news is that Discord users have the option to disable this feature if they prefer to keep their gaming activities private. By going to Settings and navigating to the Privacy and security section, users can easily deactivate the Activity status feature.
While Discord continues to evolve and add new features to enhance the user experience, it is important for users to have control over their privacy settings and decide how much information they want to share with their contacts. By providing the option to disable the Activity status feature, Discord is giving users the autonomy to customize their experience and maintain their privacy while using the platform.
