It’s that time of year again when music streaming services start giving users a peek into their listening habits for the year. YouTube Music has announced that users can now access their 2024 Music Recap to see personalized stats on their top artists, songs, moods, genres, and more from the past year.
To view your 2024 Music Recap, simply open the YouTube or YouTube Music app. Look for a banner prompting you to check out your recap, or navigate to your profile, select the “Your Recap” option, and then tap “get your recap” if you don’t see the banner.
This year’s YouTube Music Recap features animated cards, similar to Spotify’s Wrapped feature, offering a more dynamic audiovisual experience that moves with the rhythm of your top songs. In the past, the recaps included static images, but this year brings a more engaging format.
YouTube Music has added three new stats to help users delve deeper into their listening habits. You’ll receive a personalized summary of your music taste over the past year, with insights like whether your listening habits were “moody” or “amped.” You can also view a timeline highlighting key moments from the year, such as which month was your top month with a specific artist.
Additionally, YouTube Music will assign you an alter-ego based on your top tracks and artists, giving you fun titles like “The Hometown Hero” or “The Hopeless Romantic.” The recap also includes podcast highlights, revealing your top podcast of the year and a list of your top five podcasts.
While YouTube Music has already released its 2024 Music Recap, Spotify and Apple Music are expected to follow suit in the coming weeks. Keep an eye out for their yearly recaps to see how your listening habits compare across different platforms. Enjoy exploring your music journey from the past year with these personalized recaps!
