This morning, Reddit faced technical issues once again, following a previous outage yesterday afternoon. Despite Reddit’s status page indicating that the platform is still up and running, many users are currently experiencing difficulties accessing both the website and the app. Downdetector.com has received reports from 51,221 users regarding these problems, a significant increase from the 47,000 reports received yesterday.
The cause of this latest outage seems to be an HTTP Error. Yesterday’s outage was first noticed when users tried to visit the homepage, only to be met with a black screen displaying the message: “Upstream connect error or disconnect/reset before headers. Reset reason: connection failure.” Meanwhile, on the iOS app, users were greeted with the image of a dead Snoo head, Reddit’s mascot. Fortunately, the issue was resolved within four hours.
In light of these ongoing technical difficulties, TechCrunch has reached out to Reddit for a statement regarding the situation. While Reddit’s status page maintains that the platform is operational, the increasing number of user reports on Downdetector.com suggests otherwise. Stay tuned for further updates as Reddit works to address these issues and restore full functionality to its platform.
