Aspyr, the developer behind the remastering of classic Star Wars games, has announced their next project: a remastered version of the 2002 third-person shooter, Bounty Hunter. This game follows the origin story of Jango Fett, set 10 years before the events of Attack of the Clones.
In Bounty Hunter, players take on the role of Jango Fett as he is tasked by Count Dooku to eliminate his former padawan, Komari Vosa, who has become the leader of a crime syndicate and a Dark Jedi. Throughout the game, players will hunt and track targets across the galaxy, encountering familiar characters such as shapeshifter Zam Wesell and acquiring the Firespray ship that will eventually become Slave 1. Additionally, players will have the opportunity to explore Jango Fett’s connection to the creation of the Clone army.
The remastered version of Bounty Hunter is set to be released on August 1 and will be available on modern platforms such as Nintendo Switch, Xbox, Playstation, and Steam. While details about the updates and improvements in the remastered version are still scarce, fans are hopeful that the game will not suffer from the same technical issues that plagued Aspyr’s previous release of the classic Battlefront games earlier this year.
Despite its original camera control issues, Bounty Hunter was praised for its innovative bounty system, which allowed players to scan NPCs for potential bounties and choose whether to capture them dead or alive. With the remastered version, fans are eagerly anticipating a smoother gameplay experience and updated graphics.
Aspyr’s commitment to reviving classic Star Wars games has been well-received by fans, and the announcement of Bounty Hunter’s remaster has generated excitement among the gaming community. With its engaging storyline and iconic characters, Bounty Hunter remains a beloved entry in the Star Wars gaming universe.
