However, they are often limited to specific regions, such as over the ocean or in polar areas. The next lunar occultation of Mars, visible across most of the United States, is set to take place on the night of February 4–5, 2042, with similar events occurring in 2035, 2038, and 2039 in specific areas like South Florida and the Pacific Northwest.

Nonetheless, for a brief moment on Monday night, it appeared as though a direct path to the stars had opened up.
