Herschel “Guy” Beahm, known as Dr. Disrespect, had his Twitch channel banned four years ago without a clear explanation. However, former employees of Twitch have now revealed the real reason behind the ban. It has been reported that Beahm used a now-deprecated Twitch feature called Whispers to communicate with a minor at TwitchCon. This information was disclosed by a former Twitch employee who was part of the trust and safety team.

Another former Twitch employee, Cody Conners, also made a similar accusation on Twitter, suggesting that Dr. Disrespect was caught sexting a minor through Twitch whispers and was attempting to meet up with the minor at TwitchCon. Despite these allegations, Beahm took to Twitter to deny any wrongdoing, stating that the issue had been investigated and settled, and no illegal activity was found. He also mentioned that he had been compensated for the ban.

When asked for a response to the allegations, Beahm did not provide any additional comments. Twitch, on the other hand, did not immediately respond to requests for a statement. The former employee who made the latest accusation revealed that a moderation report was filed regarding the chat between Dr. Disrespect and the minor, leading to an investigation by the company.

Following his ban from Twitch, Beahm sued the platform but later reached a resolution with them. Recently, during a short stream, Beahm announced that he would be taking a break from streaming due to feeling burnt out. He hinted at the possibility of starting something new or different in the future.

In light of these events, the game developer Midnight Society, which had ties to Dr. Disrespect for its game Deadrop, decided to terminate its relationship with the streamer after discussions with all parties involved. The situation has shed light on the importance of responsible behavior, especially when it comes to online interactions and communication with minors.
