This collaboration allows DistroKid Members, who pay an annual subscription fee of $22.99, to register as artists on TikTok within hours, instead of the usual 30-day processing time.

The Artist Account feature on TikTok was introduced last year, enabling musicians to showcase their new music, music catalog, and behind-the-scenes content. Phil Bauer, the President of DistroKid, expressed excitement about this partnership, stating that artists can now create their official TikTok Artist Accounts quickly and easily through DistroKid. He emphasized that this initiative reduces the processing time from weeks to just hours, providing DistroKid members with unique tools and features to promote their music on TikTok’s popular discovery platform.

In addition to this partnership, Bytedance, the parent company of TikTok, collaborated with DistroKid in October to allow independent artists to make their songs available on both TikTok Music and the video editing app CapCut.
