YouTube Premium has introduced five new features that users should be excited about. In a recent blog post, YouTube announced two features exclusive to Android users and three experimental features for both Android and the YouTube website.
The first feature is Jump Ahead, which was rolled out in May. This feature allows users to skip to the most interesting parts of a video by double-tapping the screen to display the Jump Ahead button. This feature is currently available for Android users and will soon be accessible to iPhone users.
Next, YouTube has introduced a picture-in-picture feature for YouTube Shorts on Android devices. This multitasking option allows users to shrink the video window into the corner of the screen while using other apps simultaneously.
For those interested in trying out experimental features, they can sign up at youtube.com/new. One of these features is Smart downloads for YouTube Shorts, which automatically downloads short videos to your Android device for offline viewing. Another experimental feature is the Conversational AI feature, exclusive to Android users, that can answer questions about the video being watched and suggest related videos.
Lastly, the redesigned Watch Page on the YouTube website aims to help users discover videos related to their interests and easily access user comments. This feature will be available in test mode until July 8th.
YouTube Premium, priced at $13.99 per month, offers various perks such as higher-quality video resolution, offline viewing, and no ads. Subscribers can also easily resume videos where they left off, making for a seamless viewing experience.
