Zapp Electric Vehicles is gearing up to become a global leader in the electric vehicle market, with plans to expand its reach to India and other international markets. The company’s first product, the i300 urban electric two-wheeler, is set to launch in the UK next month, followed by Thailand and now India.
India has been identified as a key market for Zapp due to its high demand for two-wheelers and its status as the second-largest two-wheeler manufacturer globally. In light of this, Zapp has partnered with Indian electric two-wheeler maker Bounce Electric 1 to produce and sell the i300 locally. Sales are expected to begin in 2025, with a minimum production capacity of 5,000 units per year in India.
Zapp’s founder and CEO, Swin Chatsuwan, emphasized that the company is not looking to dominate the market like Royal Enfield but rather aims to offer a premium product comparable to BMW’s electric scooters. The launch of the i300 in India will expand Zapp’s total addressable market by 25%, positioning the company for further growth in the global market.
The i300 features innovative design elements such as an aerospace-grade alloy exoskeleton and a powerful electric motor. Zapp is also offering customization options and accessories to cater to individual preferences and enhance the overall user experience.
Looking ahead, Zapp plans to expand its market presence to Spain, Italy, Vietnam, and Indonesia in the next phase, with further expansion into the Middle East and South America in the pipeline. The company aims to establish itself as a comprehensive motorcycle company, offering a range of products designed to meet the diverse needs of consumers worldwide.
With a strong focus on quality, performance, and innovation, Zapp Electric Vehicles is poised to make a significant impact in the global electric vehicle market. Stay tuned for the official launch of the i300 and witness the evolution of Zapp into a leading player in the industry.
