YouTube has introduced a new feature called Stable Volume for Android TV and Google TV devices. This feature automatically adjusts the volume of videos to provide a consistent listening experience. It balances the volume range between quiet and loud parts in a video, ensuring that you don’t have to constantly adjust the volume with your remote.
To access the Stable Volume feature, make sure you have installed YouTube version 4.40.303 on your Android TV display. While watching a video, you can select the gear icon and find Stable Volume as an option within the Settings menu. It is turned on by default, but you can easily deactivate it if needed.
9To5Google recommends turning off Stable Volume when listening to music or watching videos with a detailed audio mix, as it may affect the sound quality. It’s important to note that Stable Volume may not be available for all videos, and music playback will not be negatively impacted.
Although the official YouTube Help page states that Stable Volume is exclusive to the mobile app, the feature is now available on Android TV and Google TV devices. Be on the lookout for the update to enjoy this new feature, along with other YouTube on TV features like Multiview and auto-generated key moments that were launched in 2024.
