Need help with today’s New York Times Connections puzzle? Unlike Wordle, which tests your vocabulary, Connections is more of a brain teaser. You are presented with 16 words and your task is to group them into four categories based on how they are connected. While some connections may be obvious, the game editor, Wyna Liu, likes to throw in words that can fit into multiple groups to keep you on your toes. Here are the hints and answers for today’s Connections puzzle.
Hints for today’s groups:
Yellow group hint: Ways to support a candidate.
Green group hint: Configuration of something.
Blue group hint: Items in a workshop.
Purple group hint: Abbreviated arithmetic words.
Answers for today’s groups:
Yellow group: Campaign, canvass, organize, stump.
Green group: Composition, fabric, makeup, structure.
Blue group: Clamp, file, level, saw.
Purple group: Log, max, mod, tan.
Playing Connections is simple – just mentally sort the 16 words into related groups of four. Click on the words you believe belong together and wait to see if you’re correct. The groups are color-coded, with yellow being the easiest and purple being the most challenging. Pay close attention to the words and consider any potential connections, as sometimes the link may be a smaller part of the word itself. For instance, in a previous puzzle, words were grouped together because they all started with the name of a rock band, such as “Rushmore” and “Journeyman.”
