Netherrealm Studios has exciting news for Mortal Kombat 1 fans with the announcement of the Khaos Reigns expansion. This expansion will bring a brand new story mode to the game, featuring a version of Havik from a different timeline as the primary antagonist. Fans can expect high graphical fidelity and plenty of gratuitous violence when Khaos Reigns launches on September 24, 2024.
But that’s not all – Khaos Reigns will also introduce Kombat Pack 2, adding six new characters to the game. Three characters – Sektor, Cyrax, and Noob Saibot – will be available on release day, with three guest characters, including Scream’s Ghostface, Conan the Barbarian, and Terminator 2: Judgment Day’s T-1000, to follow. Additionally, the Khaos Reigns bundle will include the first Kombat Pack with characters like Quan-Chi, Ermac, and more.
Excitingly, the Khaos Reigns expansion will bring back a fan-favorite feature from the past: Animalities. These special Fatality animations allow fighters to transform into creatures to deliver brutal finishing moves. The trailer showcases a variety of animal transformations, each more gruesome than the last.
In addition to the game updates, Mortal Kombat 1 fans can also look forward to a limited edition DualSense controller inspired by Concord, as well as news about the next expansion pack for The Sims 4. Stay tuned for more updates and breaking news on gaming hardware and software.
