We’re approaching the highly anticipated Made by Google event, and it seems like some details about the upcoming Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 XL have already been leaked. A TikTok user named pixo_unpacking shared videos showcasing what appears to be pre-production samples of these new phones over the weekend.

The videos reveal that the standard Pixel 9 will have a glossy finish on its back, while the larger Pixel 9 XL will feature a matte finish. Both phones seem to sport rear-panel etchings typically seen on Google prototypes, although they are mostly covered by labels in the clips.

From the footage, it is evident that the Pixel 9 will come with two cameras, while the Pixel 9 XL will boast three. Interestingly, Google seems to have redesigned the camera visor into an elongated oval shape. The protrusion of the camera visor is quite noticeable when the two phones are shown together in the videos.

Google has already sent out invites for the event scheduled for August 13th at their Mountain View headquarters, a departure from the usual Pixel launch location in New York City. While the invite did not provide specific details, it did mention a focus on showcasing the best of Google AI, Android software, and the Pixel device lineup.

Apart from the Pixel 9 series, we can expect to see a next-generation Pixel Fold, a new Tensor chip, and a third-generation Pixel Watch at the event. There may also be a potential appearance of the Pixel Buds. Given the current trend in the tech industry, it is highly likely that Google will introduce new AI features, possibly including the rumored Pixie AI assistant. Additionally, there are speculations about the inclusion of iPhone-like emergency satellite messaging in these new phones.

As we wait for the official unveiling of the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 XL, these leaks have certainly stirred up excitement and anticipation among tech enthusiasts. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the Made by Google event.
