Samsung Galaxy fans are eagerly awaiting the upcoming Samsung Unpacked event, where the latest devices are set to be unveiled. However, ahead of the event, several leaks have surfaced detailing the specifications of the new Galaxy Watch 7 series.
According to a report from French publication Dealabs, the Galaxy Watch 7 will come in two sizes, 40mm and 44mm, with three dial color options. The watch is said to feature an aluminum armor casing, sapphire glass on the front, and a 3D glass dial on the back. It will support Bluetooth connectivity, with a 4G version available for those who want data on the go.
On the other hand, the Galaxy Watch Ultra, Samsung’s premium-tier smartwatch, will be available in a single 47mm size with three dial color choices. It will support both 4G and Bluetooth connectivity and come with a titanium casing for a more luxurious look and feel.
Both versions of the watch will feature Super AMOLED displays, run on the Exynos W1000 processor, and offer 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage – double the storage capacity of the previous Galaxy Watch 6. Battery life will vary across the sizes, with the Watch Ultra sporting the largest battery capacity at 590mAh.
In terms of protection, all watches in the series will have standard IP6X dust protection, with the Watch Ultra boasting a higher water resistance rating of 10 ATM compared to 5 ATM on the regular Watch 7. Connectivity features include Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi support, NFC, dual-frequency GPS, and One UI Watch 6.0 for the operating system.
The leaked pricing information suggests that the Galaxy Watch 7 could start at $343 for the 40mm Bluetooth version and go up to $375 for the 44mm variant. Adding 4G connectivity could cost an additional $50. The Galaxy Watch Ultra is expected to be the most expensive, priced around $750.
Overall, the new Galaxy Watch series promises significant upgrades over its predecessor, with improved efficiency, performance, and storage capacity. Fans can look forward to the official unveiling of the devices, along with other new Samsung products, at the upcoming Unpacked event on July 10 at 9 a.m. E.T.
