A recent update for Windows 11 Insiders has introduced some new features to make file management easier. According to Windows Latest, users can now access jump lists for apps pinned to the Start menu and share files directly from the Windows Search panel.

One of the most exciting additions is the enhancement to File Explorer, which now includes a new Shared section in the Home folder. This new feature is designed to streamline file sharing and collaboration by integrating with your Microsoft account. It displays files that have been shared with you through other Microsoft products like OneDrive and Teams.

For enterprise and education accounts, the Shared section will also show files shared within the organization. Additionally, it will work with Microsoft Entra ID, a tool used by companies to manage employee access to internal resources.

Although the feature is still in the testing phase and may have some bugs, it has the potential to be incredibly useful for teams or organizations dealing with a high volume of shared files. Having all shared files from various apps in one central location can simplify the process of locating specific documents or images.

Currently, the Shared feature is only available in the optional KB5043185 update for Windows Insiders on the Dev Channel. It is expected to be released to the general public in early October.
