Zyod, an innovative Indian startup, has recently secured $18 million in funding to expand its tech-enabled fashion manufacturing platform to over 40 countries worldwide. The company, based in Gurugram, collaborates with Indian factories to assist in the production of fashion wear for international brands.

One of Zyod’s key offerings is its ERP software, which serves as the “brain of manufacturing” for factories. This software provides detailed instructions on what needs to be produced, how it should be made, and when it should be made, allowing factories to optimize their production capacity. This is particularly important as over 80,000 small and medium factories in India currently operate at less than 33% capacity utilization.

Through Zyod’s platform, factories can understand the specific requirements of global brands, such as the type of fabric to use and the cutting and stitching patterns needed to produce clothes efficiently. Additionally, the startup has implemented a daily production reporting system that provides factories with a day-to-day action plan, overcoming the challenges faced by traditional factories that rely on manual processes like paper and pen or messaging apps like WhatsApp.

Founded in early 2023 by Ankit Jaipuria and Ritesh Khandelwal, Zyod has rapidly expanded its customer base to over 550 clients across 18 countries. Initially catering to direct-to-consumer brands, the startup has now onboarded enterprise customers, including major brands like Reliance Industries and Aditya Birla in India, as well as international brands such as Urban Research, Anthropologie, NEXT, and Boohoo.

In a bid to enhance its services, Zyod recently launched a mobile app for iOS and Android platforms, catering to customers who prefer to purchase different styles on the go. The app also allows enterprise clients to track their orders and communicate with Zyod’s team through live chat features. Future updates to the app will include new communication methods like order approvals and live chats.

The $18 million investment in Zyod’s Series A round, led by RTP Global with participation from Lightspeed, Alteria Capital, Stride Ventures, Stride One, and Trifecta Capital, will fuel the startup’s expansion into the Southern Hemisphere and new markets like Brazil, Australia, Africa, and parts of Europe. The funding will also be used to improve Zyod’s predictive capabilities for fashion styles, automate the platform for design pattern generation, and integrate with traditional stitching machines to reduce errors.

With a focus on leveraging technology to streamline the fashion production process, Zyod aims to revolutionize the industry by providing data-driven insights and automation tools to its global network of clients. The startup’s rapid growth and commitment to innovation have attracted the support of investors like Lightspeed India, who are excited about Zyod’s potential for continued success in the fashion manufacturing sector.
