July’s SSI payment was the same as usual for recipients, but August and September will be different. Let’s explain why. Additionally, you may be receiving extra money later this year. SSI benefits are provided by the Social Security Administration to eligible individuals with limited income and resources, including those who are blind, over 65, or have a qualifying disability. Children who are blind or disabled may also receive SSI.

If you are new to receiving benefits or plan to apply for SSI soon, we will provide you with all the dates you can expect to receive your payments for the rest of 2024. For more information, you can learn how to apply for your state’s TANF program and how to apply for Social Security benefits for your child.

Here are the dates when you can expect your SSI payments to be directly deposited each month until the end of 2024:
– Monday, July 1
– Thursday, August 1
– Friday, August 30 (for September)
– Tuesday, October 1
– Friday, November 1
– Friday, November 29 (for December)

Some exceptions may prevent you from receiving your SSI payment on the first of the month. These exceptions include if the first falls on a holiday or a weekend. This year, since August 1 is on a Tuesday, payments will go out as scheduled. However, since September 1 is on a Sunday, beneficiaries will receive their payments on August 30. This will also occur in November.

If you receive other Social Security benefits, those payments will not be affected and will still be distributed on their regular schedule, as they are typically paid on Wednesdays. Here is the schedule for August payments:
– August 2: Social Security payments for those receiving benefits before May 1997
– August 14: Social Security payments for individuals with birthdays between the 1st and 10th of the month
– August 21: Social Security payments for individuals with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of the month
– August 28: Social Security payments for individuals with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of the month
