OpenAI has recently introduced new enterprise controls for users of ChatGPT Enterprise, focusing on compliance, data security, and safe scaling of access. The new Enterprise Compliance API provides users with a detailed record of interactions, uploaded files, metadata, ChatGPT memory, and workspace users, allowing enterprises to audit the data shared on the platform.

In addition to the API, OpenAI has collaborated with third-party compliance providers such as Forcepoint, Global Relay, Microsoft Purview, and others to offer integrations that support various compliance-related activities like archiving, audit trails, data redaction, and policy enforcement. These integrations enable organizations, including those in highly regulated sectors, to meet rules and regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and FINRA.

Managing a large number of users is a common challenge for ChatGPT Enterprise customers. To address this, OpenAI will be launching an identity management system that simplifies permissioning and user access information synchronization through SCIM. This system will allow account managers to easily provision or remove access to the platform, enhancing user management capabilities.

Furthermore, OpenAI has introduced additional features that provide account administrators with broader control over custom GPTs and specific-use chatbots created by employees. Admins can now set approved domains for GPT connections, create user groups, manage sharing permissions, remove or transfer ownership of GPTs, and approve external GPTs. These controls complement existing features like single sign-on, custom data retention, and encryption.

ChatGPT Enterprise, powered by OpenAI’s GPT-4o, was unveiled in 2023 as a premium option offering enterprise-grade security, larger context windows, and faster results compared to other paid products like ChatGPT Plus and ChatGPT Teams. OpenAI’s COO, Brad Lightcap, highlighted 2024 as the “year of the enterprise” for the company, with ChatGPT Enterprise playing a significant role in catering to enterprise needs.

Moreover, OpenAI has released GPT-4o mini, a smaller version of its flagship AI model, to enhance the capabilities of ChatGPT Enterprise. The company continues to focus on providing innovative solutions and expanding its offerings to meet the evolving needs of enterprise customers in various sectors.
